Armed with a Masters of Art in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College, I started my career at Rodale in New York City, editing cookbooks and nonfiction titles. I enjoyed working in the publishing world, but not as much as I enjoy swimming and being in the woods, so I left New York and took a job back in my hometown in northern Michigan. Working at a nonprofit with a small team of optimists, dreamers, and environmentalists, I spent a couple years writing grants, fundraising appeals, and annual reports.
In 2017, I joined the brand team at Hagerty–a classic and collector car insurance company–working to tell their brand story, sell products and a lifestyle, and bring car culture to life at events across the country. I’ve taken niche interests and statistics and made them accessible and fun. I’ve written company values and distilled complex corporate programs into tidy landing pages. And I’ve written approximately 8,759 marketing emails.
Some other recent highlights include writing full-scope web copy for a loud, lovable independent music school in Boston and authoring several teeny-tiny gift books for Hachette Press—maybe you’ve seen them while waiting in the check-out aisle at Target, Urban Outfitters or your local bookstore.
I like working with people who are positive, grounded, and who love to collaborate. I want to hear your story, dream or problem and then help you find the right words to tell the world, make it happen or solve it. Have something to say? Get in touch.
